Kings Cross is inextricably linked to London’s industrial past. The telescopic gasholder was invented in 1824 and provided the storage needed to meet the demands of an ever-growing city.
The interlocking gasholder triplets we built and revised between 1860 and 1880 and now, some 150 years later, they are once again responding innovatively to The Capital’s ever increasing population.
The world may have transformed around them but the body and scale of the gasholders guide frames are not changed, and now hard work and innovation has transformed them into new living accommodation besides the Regent’s Canal.
Wilson Energy has provided a site-wide integrated Heat Interface Units, smart metering and bureau billing solution to the Kings Cross Development Company via its network of Construction and M&E contractors. The heating system provides instantaneous domestic hot water via a fully modular assembly that was specifically developed by Wilson Energy to include a hot water storage capability.
