The PM valve responds automatically when domestic hot water is drawn. It regulates primary heating-water flow according to DHW demand while prioritising heat delivery to the domestic hot water plate heat exchanger.

This proportional operating principle allows the heat exchanger to operate when hot water is required rather than maintaining unnecessary continuous flow. WilSon's technical documentation explains that the PM valve also restricts primary flow to the apartment heating circuit during DHW draw-off, providing domestic hot water priority.
