The Big Help Project
The Big Help Project is a local charity in Knowsley, founded initially as a foodbank in 2011, with two clear aims: to feed the hungry in Knowsley, and to work with people who are in poverty to help them overcome that poverty and move on to a better future. The organisation has grown significantly and has increased the range of services available.
One of those is Fresh start, where they work with people in crisis that often need immediate help and support with complex issues such as homelessness, budgeting/finance, offending behaviours, relationships, employment, mental health, drug and alcohol. Fresh Start support clients to break these cycles, to help develop life skills, as well as family and community relationships to enable full independence.
